On July 28, 2006 the Niles (Fremont) Rotary Club in association with Group 7, Peja Stojakovic Children’s Foundation, and the Wheelchair Foundation will be proudly hosting an exciting fundraiser called A Majestic Evening of Hope to benefit Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, Patron HRH Crown Princess Katherine.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise the desperately needed funds to send wheelchairs and medical supplies to Serbia, regardless of ethnicity or religion.  The event will be held at the Fremont Marriott Hotel and will be open to the Public, Rotarians, members of all the Greek, Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches in the surrounding areas, as well as, any other group or organization that would like to support our fundraising efforts. We are expecting to have over 500 people in attendance and space is limited.

We are honored and privileged to hold this event in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia.  Also in attendance will be NBA Stars Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic, Past Rotary International President for the World, Richard D. King, as the key note speaker and Ken Behring, Founder of the Wheelchair Foundation and former owner of the Seattle Seahawks Professional football team.  Chris Lewis, Jerry Lewis’ son and Vice President of Public Education for the Wheelchair Foundation will be the M.C. for the event!

This promises to be a very exciting event!  There will be a no-host bar cocktail reception from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. with music provided by Dunav, dinner and program from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. followed by a live and silent auction from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Photo opportunities will be available and can be purchased the evening of the event.  Also, everyone in attendance will receive a free copy of the book Road to Purpose, Ken Behring’s personal journey that lead to the creation of the Wheelchair Foundation and the stories of the people we have touched. Once all funds have been collected from the A Majestic Evening of Hope event, the Niles (Fremont) Rotary Club will apply for a matching grant from Rotary International, so every dollar raised will have a greater impact!  With your participation and generous support, this event promises to be a great success!

Tickets for this event may be purchased online by clicking here or by making checks payable to: Niles Rotary Foundation and mailing to: Niles (Fremont) Rotary, P.O. Box 7104, Fremont, Ca. 94537. Tickets will be $150.00 per person for general admission or $250.00 per person for V.I.P. tickets, which will allow entrance into a private reception with all of the celebrity guests for a one hour meet and greet prior to the start of the event.  Donations can be made online or by mail for those who are unable to attend the event, but would still like to show their support by making a donation.
