From the Heart Schools Program
Our program began in 2009 with 20 students from Treeview Elementary School in Hayward. The goal of our program at that time was to show these students that no matter how tough they thought their lives were, there were people in other parts of the world who had even less than they did. That year, these 20 students raised $221, which went towards the purchase of two wheelchairs bound for Chile.
Since then, From the Heart has grown to include more than 50,000 students from more than 50 schools that raise up to $100,000 annually.
Wine for Wheels
“A grassroots advocacy campaign for the Wheelchair Foundation Mission”
Wine for Wheels is an international group of philanthropic volunteers, consisting of thousands of friends and colleagues, who meet all over the United Sates at different venues, some private, some public, to provide the awareness of the needs and abilities of people with physical disabilities and to collect donations to provide wheelchairs, hope, mobility and freedom to those in need.
Welcome Rotarians
Rotary Clubs around the world have been vital partners in bringing the gift of mobility to those in need. Together, Rotarians have helped fund and deliver over one million wheelchairs worldwide, contributing more than a quarter of all distributions to date. Through their generosity, service, and global network, countless lives have been transformed with independence and hope.

Sponsor a Container of Wheelchairs
You can make an extraordinary impact by sponsoring a full container of wheelchairs. Each container delivers 280 wheelchairs at a total cost of $56,000. Through the Wheelchair Foundation’s matching program, your generosity goes even further, doubling the number of wheelchairs that reach people in need.
As a sponsor, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the country where your container will be distributed. Sponsors are also invited to join the distribution trip, witnessing firsthand the life-changing difference your support brings to individuals, families, and entire communities.

Get a Wheelchair
The Wheelchair Foundation provides standard manual wheelchairs to people in need through donations that fund our mission. Internationally, we work with governments, NGOs, and local partners to coordinate large-scale distributions, while in the United States we offer wheelchairs to qualified individuals who demonstrate financial need.
