About Us
Founded by philanthropist Ken Behring, the Wheelchair Foundation was built on a simple belief: mobility is a human right. A wheelchair is more than a medical device — it opens the door to education, employment, community, and dignity.
In 25 years, the Foundation and its global partners have delivered more than 1.2 million wheelchairs across 156 countries, transforming lives one chair at a time.
Today, it continues working with local leaders, hospitals, and service organizations worldwide to ensure no one is left without the gift of mobility.
