Cruz Jiminián and The Wheelchair Foundation Deliver Wheelchairs in Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – Dr. Félix Antonio Cruz Jiminián, president of the Cruz Jiminián Foundation, along with the president of the Wheelchair Foundation, led a distribution of free wheelchairs. The event, held in the National District, benefited dozens of citizens with disabilities and mobility limitations.

During the activity, Dr. Cruz Jiminián, the president of the Wheelchair Foundation, and former Major League Baseball player José Veras emphasized the importance of strengthening solidarity alliances to guarantee access to assistive devices.

Those who received the wheelchairs expressed their gratitude to both foundations for this initiative.

One of the recipients took the opportunity to appeal to the President of the Republic and legislators. She requested that wheelchairs and other medical support devices be exempt from taxes. She stated that this would facilitate access for those who depend on these devices for mobility.

The event unfolded in an atmosphere of solidarity and social awareness, with the participation of collaborators and volunteers committed to the cause.
